Sony Ericsson announced that it is launching a new Bluetooth handsfree, the HBH-35, in June. The new headset has longer talk and standby time, better sound quality and better compatibility with phones from other manufacturers.

SonyEricsson HBH-35The new HBH-35 is SonyEricsson's seventh headset. It replaces and supercedes the older HBH-30 in many areas, for example it offers up to 5 hours of talk time and up to 125 hours standby, and supports Voice Dialing and Voice Control, allowing the user to use voice commands to dial the phone or to accept or reject incoming calls. It supports the Bluetooth Headset and Handsfree profiles, and therefore can be used with every phone which has Bluetooth built-in and supports this profile.

The release of the new headset comes just in time for the fifth anniversary of Bluetooth. In May 1998, Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba launched the Bluetooth technology. Until today, Bluetooth quickly evolved and became a new standard for wireless data transfer and is currently supported by over 2000 members of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (Bluetooth SIG).

SonyEricsson was the first company delivering Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and headsets. Their very first Bluetooth phone was the Ericsson R520 which was launched in 2000.
